AGAIN, CHILD HERO EMPOWERMENT CAMPAIGN (CHEC) NURTURED WORLD CHANGERS & GREAT THINKERS!
As the wheels of continuity positively
rolls with strength for greater heights and bigger exploits, the Child Hero Empowerment Campaign (CHEC)
forges in good fate and in the joy of serving the educational needs of the
orphans and destitute children in the society.
On Saturday, the 29th of October, 2016,
the call to duty pressed on for the CHEC team, who took to the LIVING FOUNTAIN ORPHANAGE in continuity
of their monthly Child Development Workshop (CDW) which has since the month of
May, explored five orphanages and a disabled school, empowering the children
with knowledge, vocational skills and positive words of encouragement, as they
journey into their future. This marked the 6th Edition of CHEC's Workshop,
which had as its theme: “WEB LITERACY
& MIND CULTURE”.
Miss
Mabel Abel, CEO, Love 'N' Life group & a consultant brilliantly nurtured the
minds of the attentive children, towards positive thinking by sharing her own
life experience, counting her loses and the blessings that accrued on them for
persistence sake. Born into a family of five and raised by a single mother
after the decease of their father, they had to survive life's pangs. At her
greatest fall, she had discovered her passion for speaking hope into people and
began from little to pursue it. Hope, she says, is the ability to create and
only those who utilize their talents can create strong hope for themselves and
for others.
According to Miss Mabel, "Strong hope is created by overcoming greater
amounts of despair. This can be seen in God. He is the creator but wasn't
created; we His children have the same creative ability in us.” She stressed it
further by saying “Hope is directly related to our sense of responsibility, it
is what we feel when we think that life's worth living.”
She also asserted that hope is when we
have a positive relationship with our existence.
EldaDavid
Kehinde Samuel, (Non-profit
specialist) taught the children the importance of ICT to our present generation
and its current advancement. According to him, “ICT has largely become the key
to many careers that children will grow up to find themselves in, whether it is
through the use of word processors, presentation tools or using the internet
safely.” He helped the children understand that soon enough, they would be
responsible for their own learning and to secure their freedom in an ever
advancing world, to inspire other children with their lives, they would need to
embrace the learning of ICT as a crucial skill.
As benefit to the workshop program,
organized for the children by the Child
Hero Empowerment Campaign, the orphanage was immediately granted a free One
Month ICT training for the children by Elda Samuel and his organization "Team7Project", a youth
Technology Development Program that empowers people through technology. The
training is set to commence this month.
It was altogether a great time with the
children at the LIVING FOUNTAIN
ORPHANAGE, who although were very few in number, had the strength and
dexterity of a multitude. The home provided great hospitality for CHEC and its
facilitators and seized every opportunity to grasp some learning too. We surely
had a great time of learning and fun and we look forward to navigating our
educational outreach to yet another home of orphaned and destitute, but
brilliant children, who we hope will be given great direction and free mentor-ship as they journey into their future.
With gratitude in our hearts, we appreciate
our past sponsors and our sponsors for the month of October- Miss Ifechukwu Chidolue and Mazi Obinna, who donated generously
towards the books purchased for the learning benefit of the children. We are
indeed grateful! Thanks for supporting and journeying with us.
