WHEN “BLACK” IS RACISM & “WHITE” IS NOT (Why PSG Vs Istanbul Basaksehir Match should not have been dumped)

Image
Last night, 8/12/2020, the match between PSG of France & Istanbul Basaksehir of Turkey was postponed because the fourth official by the name of Sebastian Coltescu called Basaksehir’s Cameroonian’s assistant manager, Pierre Webo “black”. It is ridiculous that such a high-profile match would be stopped for that reason. What I see is black-skinned people playing victims to get certain privileges and that is not the best. Do not get me wrong – there is racism and most black people face it, but I do not see racism in being called black. I am an African, a fucking proud African and I am proud of being black – I can never consider being called a black man an insult.   Have you seen the whites get annoyed when you call them “whites” no matter what circumstance leads to it? I have not seen one reported in the media to date. Why is being called “black” a racist remark and being called “white” is not? If I live in Europe, I will make the whites want to be black because no mat...

HOW UGLINESS GAVE ME LIFE (PART 1)

Image
As long as life exists, there always will be people that look beautiful and those that look ugly – I, fortunately, belong to the latter. I grew up getting the worst treatments because of how I looked. Nobody liked me; I had a not-well shaped head and big lips – I was nicknamed ridiculously based on my look. It was hard growing up simply because I looked ugly.   My secondary school days were the worst of my days with bullies, both physically and verbally – many people bullied me because they did not like how I looked. I got back from school daily having another bully story to tell. Talk about the girls, I was a complete outcast. I always feared that girls would never like me.   When I got to sss2, my fear became a reality; I fell in love with one girl named Esther who joined us in sss2. She appeared to possess all I wanted in a woman, and being one goal-getter, I went for her despite I knew that the odds of getting her were very slim.   She was a queen and I was the ...

HOW UGLINESS GAVE ME LIFE (PART TWO)

Image
In part one of this article, I wrote about my experience in secondary school – how I was too ugly to attract a girl. However, as time went on, I realized that being as ugly as people considered me to be was a blessing from God.   When someone saw my brother’s photo and how handsome he looked, she asked - why are you ugly and your brother is handsome? My response was simple and significant – ponder over it before passing on because it is the soul of this article. I said, ‘God gave each person what he needs.’   My brother may need to be handsome to be who he is, I do not need that. That is not to undermine handsomeness, but to show that it is not what we do not have that stops us, but what we have and do not know how to use.   People letting me know that I was ugly was a blessing in disguise – I needed to find my strength and it helped me to know early enough that my strength was not in my look. This knowledge made me look within to find out what can make people admir...

HOW UGLINESS GAVE ME LIFE (PART 3)

Image
Many people see being ugly as a weakness, but while it may be a weakness in its actual sense, in my case it is a blessing in disguise. The story I am about to tell may now help you to stop seeing what God has blessed you with as weaknesses because you have not yet seen the blessings. I have been explaining from the very first part of this article how ugliness gave me life but in this part, I will be taking you through a perspective that you can easily relate with and understand. I grew up in Egbe, Kogi state in an age where there was no internet and I had no access to a phone. The only fun for a guy like me was playing football in the hot sun, and chasing after the girls in the evening – that was all there was of many growing boys’ lives then. Some of my mates became premature fathers and had their education halted. It was a reality that I did not want to experience but one that I did not know how to escape. It was at this time that the value of my look that too many people c...

HOW UGLINESS GAVE ME LIFE (PART 4)

Image
One day, I was standing in front of my office alongside an estate agent, as we were discussing, one boy passed. He kept quiet for some time as the boy passed by and said to me “I love the way that guy walks.” That was the same guy that my guys sometimes mock for his walking style that they consider awkward. I also, remember how well I was mocked for having big lips when I was growing up; it seems everyone hated me for it and I was made to believe it was a weakness – I always wished I did not have them. The same lips have now become my center of attraction and love.   I remember a lady calling me an alien because I refused to kiss her. More women have made more attempts to kiss me than I have done to them, but while some got their wishes, many did not. They may not say it but their actions often show that they love my big and sexy lips.   Some time ago I was reading an interview where Nadia Buhari, the beautiful Ghanian actress was asked what she would like to cha...

THE TEN STUPID MONKEYS

Image
Some time ago, 10 monkeys were put in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder that leads to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling. All the monkeys were hungry, but each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable. Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed ice-water, set upon him and beat him up. Soon, none of the 10 monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder. One of the 10 monkeys was then removed, and replaced with a new one. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wondered why none of the other monkeys is doing the obvious. But undaunted, he immediately climbed the ladder. All the other monkeys set upon him and beat him silly and he has no idea why. However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder. Another was removed out of the original 10 monkeys and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the othe...

LIFE’S LESSON THAT IS NEVER LEARNED

Image
There is a lesson that life keeps teaching us, one that is presented whenever anyone rises from mediocrity to relevance and from poverty to opulence, but people never learn it. It is the lesson of never writing people off. Being one student of life, I have watched life repeat this lesson over and over again but even those that sing it finds it hard to learn the lesson – they only pay lips service to it and use it to mock another victim of it. It seems in fact as if the hardest thing for the majority of people to do is to show faith in people who are not yet up. Many people give up on others even if they know that the person is only one minute away from opulence. They will never believe it until they can see results. This phenomenon forced me to learn about the cause most carefully. I have now found the cause to be a lack of faith in self. It is simply impossible for anyone to have faith in another person without first having faith in him/herself. Being one instructor in the rea...

THE MYSTERIES OF SELF-DEVELOPMENT

Image
As I grow in the realm of self-discovery and development, I understand more why it is hard for a lot of people to maintain their developed nature. A lot of people, no matter how much of self-discovery and development courses they have taken, their behaviors and responses to offenses or what looks like them never show that they are developed. Self-development is not a one-off thing; it is not even about the acquisition of the certificate,   it is an acquisition that must be a part of you– you must constantly aim to live above your default nature every second of the day.   A lot of people may have been wondering why certain people, especially in the realm of religion do the exact opposite of the tenets of their religion and defend their faults as time goes on. The reason is simple – human nature does not automatically develop; it requires conscious and continuous efforts. Some so-called Spirit-filled Christians often behave in such ways that make you doubt the entity calle...

WHY ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC IS MY FAVORITE FOOTBALLER

Image
If no one has come across you as an arrogant person, it is most likely that you have not discovered and begun to stabilize the uniqueness of your personality. That may sound rather controversial, but it is a fact. One of the blessings of self-discovery and development is that it helps you to understand the uniqueness of your personality and hold them to high esteem. When I began my journey of self-discovery, a lot of people came across me as a very arrogant person; a lot of ignorant persons still do. The reason is not farfetched; I have discovered the uniqueness of my personality and proceeded to stabilize them against what anyone has to say. During these years, one of the things I learned was what I called “Abuse of Humility” in my book “The Image of God.” The entire world knows that arrogance leads to people’s downfall, but it seems no one understands that abuse of humility reduces people to mediocre and prevents them from rising to the top. With this ignorance in place, ...

I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WILL BE “THE WORLD’S GREATEST”

Image
Soul'e Rhymez with his grandmother, holding a copy of his book, SCIENCE OF SELF-DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT (Pre-ordinary Learners) I was a High school Lass’ worst mistake and punishment of a brilliant student’s inability to control his erection. However, I was meant to come. When I was growing up, despite situations surrounding my birth, I always felt I was special, but I could not tell what made me special; despite I was not treated special among other children. I did not get the privilege most children got; according to the story told, I was that toddler always left in the farm with yam in his hands, to play and eat sand if possible. In the process, I fell and broke my leg; this meant that when other kids were going to school, I was going to remain at home with my great grandmother back then in Ilorin where I was born. I started schooling at age 6; from primary one. That was the beginning of something new, as I always came first in my class, much so that I was nick...
