We all know that illiteracy is a disease, but not many of us know that there is a disease worse than illiteracy, it is: literacy without education. A lot of people confuse literacy with being educated; but they are not the same. You may be able to speak the best of English language, yet be uneducated. Literacy is the ability to read, write and communicate in the official language of your community. Anybody can be a literate, but to be educated takes a lot of efforts. To be educated means to have drawn out the potentials from within, in connection with passions, and develop them for the benefit of oneself and at least, the community in which one lives. Going by this definition, you may understand that even with PhDs some people are still uneducated.
